Tagging a location on your posts

Add a place to a draft so your Instagram, Facebook, Threads and YouTube posts show where they were made.

How to add a location

  1. Open the draft in the editor.
  2. Find the "Location tagging" box. It appears once you have selected an account that can take a location.
  3. Search for a place, city or venue and pick a result.

The location is saved with the draft. To remove it, click the cross next to it. When FeedMansion creates the posts from your draft, it looks up the matching place on each platform and picks the one nearest to the spot you chose.

To change the place on one single post, open that post. Instagram, Facebook and Threads posts have their own "Location" field, which overrides the draft's location for that post only.

Set a default location

If most of your posts come from the same place, set a default on your presence's "About" page. New drafts start with it. You can still change or remove it on each draft.

Where a location works

Platform Works on Not possible
Instagram Single image or video, Reels Carousels, Stories
Facebook Page Text, photos, carousels, Reels Regular videos that are not Reels, Stories
Threads All posts
YouTube Videos and Shorts

These limits come from the platforms. If you select an account that can't take a location in the current format, the editor names it below the location box. The post still goes out, just without a location.

Instagram needs a Facebook Page

Instagram finds places through Facebook. To tag a location on Instagram, connect a Facebook Page to the same presence. It doesn't have to be the Page linked to your Instagram account. If no Page is connected, the editor tells you and links to Accounts. See Connecting social accounts.

YouTube shows coordinates, not a place

YouTube has no place tags. FeedMansion sends the coordinates of the location you picked as the video's recording location. It appears in the video's details, not as a tappable place like on Instagram.
