Using Vimeo Videos with FeedMansion

How to connect your Vimeo videos to FeedMansion using a third-party RSS feed.

Note: The Help Center is under construction. Articles may be incomplete, outdated, or still evolving.

Vimeo no longer provides native public RSS feeds. Vimeo's help center lists them under deprecated features, citing low usage. To bring your Vimeo videos into FeedMansion, you need a third-party service that generates an RSS feed from your public Vimeo channel.

Step 1: Generate an RSS feed for your Vimeo channel

RSS.app is one service that does this. It is independent from FeedMansion and Vimeo. Before using it, review its privacy policy and terms of service. FeedMansion does not endorse RSS.app and is not responsible for its data practices. You are sharing your Vimeo channel URL with an external service when you use it.

  1. Go to rss.app/rss-feed/vimeo-to-rss
  2. Paste your Vimeo channel URL
  3. Generate the feed
  4. Copy the RSS feed URL

RSS.app offers a free plan. Other Vimeo-to-RSS services exist. The workflow is the same regardless of which you use: generate a feed URL, then add it to FeedMansion as described below.

Step 2: Add the feed to FeedMansion

In FeedMansion, open Library in the top navigation, click Add Source, and paste the RSS URL.

FeedMansion fetches new videos from the feed on its regular sync cycle. Each new video becomes a draft for your ghost writers to work with.

What gets imported

Each video in the feed produces a draft containing:

  • Video title
  • Video description
  • Video thumbnail (when included in the feed)
  • Link back to the original Vimeo video

Privacy settings and feed access

Third-party RSS generators can only access publicly available Vimeo content.

  • Public videos appear in RSS feeds.
  • Password-protected and private videos do not.
  • Showcase visibility depends on the showcase's own privacy settings.

If your videos are not appearing, check your Vimeo privacy settings first.

Tips for video descriptions

Your ghost writers use the video description as their starting point. A description that opens with the main point gives them better material to work from.

Troubleshooting

Videos not appearing. Verify your Vimeo videos are public. Confirm the RSS URL is correct in your FeedMansion source settings. Check the last sync time.

Feed not updating. Third-party services have their own update frequencies, often once per hour or less. Check the service's documentation, or try refreshing the feed manually in FeedMansion.

Wrong video information. Update the video metadata on Vimeo, wait for the RSS feed to refresh, then refresh the source in FeedMansion.

Why no native Vimeo integration?

Vimeo's official API requires developer credentials and OAuth authentication. It is not a user-paste URL workflow. A native integration is possible in principle but has not been built yet. The RSS workaround covers the most common case: following a public Vimeo channel for new video announcements.
