What the cover frame is
The cover frame is the still image people see before a video plays. It is the thumbnail in the feed and on your profile grid. By default each platform picks this frame for you, and the automatic pick is often a blurry or awkward moment.
FeedMansion lets you choose the frame yourself. You scrub to the moment you want, save it, and that frame becomes the cover.
Where it applies
The cover frame is used by:
- TikTok
- Instagram reels
Other platforms ignore the setting and keep their normal behavior. The choice lives on the video itself, so if you target both TikTok and Instagram with the same video, one choice covers both.
How to choose a frame
- Attach a video to your post.
- In the media list, find the video and click Choose cover frame.
- Drag the slider to the moment you want as the cover. The preview updates as you scrub.
- Click Use this frame to save it.
That is it. The button stays highlighted to show a frame is set.
Going back to automatic
Open the same dialog and click Use automatic cover. The platform goes back to picking the frame for you.
Notes
- The choice is saved on the video, not on a single post. When you approve a draft, the post you publish keeps the frame you picked.
- If your video file already has a cover baked in by another tool, choosing a frame here overrides it for TikTok and Instagram.
