What a story mention does
When you mention an account on an Instagram story, that account gets a notification from Instagram and can reshare your story to their own. That is the main reach mechanic of story tagging: the person you feature shares your story onward.
One thing to know: a mention added through FeedMansion does not show as a visible sticker on the story image or video. Instagram does not let publishing tools place stickers. The account is tagged and notified, but viewers will not see an @username on the media. If you want a visible name, put it in the image itself, for example in Canva.
How to add story mentions
There are two ways.
While writing the draft. Select an Instagram story as the target. A "Story mentions" box appears in the editor. Pick people from your contacts; it lists the contacts that have an Instagram handle, and the right handle is filled in for you. You can mention up to 20 accounts per story. To mention someone who is not a contact yet, add them under Contacts first with their Instagram handle.
On a single story post. Open the story post in the editor, find the "Story mentions" box, type the username, and press Enter or "Add". This sets the mentions for that one story only and takes priority over what the draft set.
The mentioned accounts appear as chips on the post in the Ready, Scheduled, and Published views.
Limits
- Story mentions only work on Instagram. Facebook stories cannot carry mentions; Facebook ignores all text on stories published through any tool.
- Mentioned accounts must be public Instagram accounts. If a username does not exist or the account is private, Instagram rejects the story and the post shows an error naming the username.
- Use the exact Instagram username, without the leading @. FeedMansion removes a leading @ for you if you type one.
What about links on stories?
Clickable link stickers cannot be added to stories by any publishing tool. Instagram does not offer this in its publishing interface for third parties, and a published story cannot be edited to add a sticker afterwards. This is a restriction on Instagram's side, not a missing feature in FeedMansion. If a clickable link is essential for a story, post that story manually in the Instagram app and add the link sticker there.
