Using FeedMansion with Your Ghost Blog or Newsletter

Connect your Ghost blog or newsletter to FeedMansion. Every new post becomes social media drafts in your voice, ready for review.

What is Ghost?

Ghost is a modern publishing platform for blogs and newsletters. It generates an RSS feed for your posts automatically, which is all FeedMansion needs to connect.

Once your Ghost site is connected, your ghost writers turn each new post into social media drafts in your voice. You review, approve, and publish across every platform you've connected.

Finding Your Ghost RSS Feed

Ghost automatically creates RSS feeds for your content. You don't need to install anything or change any settings.

Main RSS Feed

Add /rss/ to your Ghost site URL:

https://yourdomain.com/rss/

Replace yourdomain.com with your actual Ghost site domain.

Other RSS Feed Options

Ghost generates RSS feeds for specific content by appending /rss/ to different URLs:

  • All posts: https://yourdomain.com/rss/
  • Specific tag: https://yourdomain.com/tag/your-tag/rss/
  • Author archive: https://yourdomain.com/author/username/rss/

Use a tag-specific feed if you only want FeedMansion to pick up posts from one category of your blog.

Finding Your RSS URL in Ghost Admin

If you're not sure of your domain, you can find it in Ghost Admin:

  1. Go to Settings and then General
  2. Look at the Site URL field
  3. Add /rss/ to the end of that URL

That's your RSS feed URL.

Connecting Ghost to FeedMansion

Once you have your RSS feed URL, connecting to FeedMansion takes seconds:

  1. In FeedMansion, open Manage in the left sidebar
  2. Click Add Source
  3. Select Feed as the source type
  4. Paste your Ghost RSS feed URL
  5. Give the source a name (like "My Ghost Blog")
  6. Click Add Source

If you want drafts created automatically, link this feed to a ghost writer in Auto-Drafts. The same source is also available in Remix once your brand voice is set.

What Content Gets Imported

FeedMansion reads your Ghost RSS feed and creates social media drafts based on:

  • Post title - used in draft headlines
  • Post excerpt - used in draft content when available
  • Feature image - attached to drafts for image-based platforms
  • Post body - used to generate relevant social media drafts

Content Types

Ghost RSS feeds include:

  • Blog posts - standard articles you publish
  • Newsletter posts - posts sent to email subscribers
  • Featured posts - posts you have marked as featured

Note: Ghost pages (static pages like "About" or "Contact") are not included in the RSS feed.

Members-Only Posts

Ghost's membership feature lets you mark posts as members-only or paid-members-only. These posts do not appear in the public RSS feed. FeedMansion will not create drafts for them.

If you want to promote members-only posts on social media, publish a separate public teaser post in Ghost and FeedMansion will pick that up.

Sync Frequency

FeedMansion checks your Ghost RSS feed periodically. When you publish a new post, your ghost writers will typically create drafts within a few minutes to an hour, depending on your plan settings.

You don't need to do anything extra. Publish in Ghost and wait for the notification.

Best Practices

Write Effective Excerpts

Ghost lets you add an excerpt to each post. This short summary appears in your RSS feed and helps your ghost writers create better social media drafts.

To add an excerpt in Ghost:

  1. Edit your post
  2. Find the Excerpt field in the post settings panel
  3. Write a 1-2 sentence summary of your post
  4. Save and publish

Good excerpts are specific and highlight what readers will learn.

Use Feature Images

Posts with feature images work better on social media. Ghost includes these images in your RSS feed automatically, and FeedMansion attaches them to your drafts.

Always add a feature image before publishing in Ghost. Your drafts will be ready to post with images included.

Structure Posts for Social Sharing

Think about how your post will translate to social media:

  • Clear headlines that work on their own
  • Key takeaways that can become standalone posts
  • Relevant images that support your message

Your ghost writers use these elements to create drafts that match your content.

Common Workflows

Blog post to multiple drafts: Publish a post in Ghost. Your ghost writer creates a thread, a LinkedIn post, and other platform-specific drafts. Review and approve.

Newsletter to social recap: Send your newsletter through Ghost. Your ghost writer creates a "new post available" announcement for your social channels. Approve and schedule.

Troubleshooting

Posts Not Appearing

If your Ghost posts aren't creating drafts in FeedMansion:

Check your RSS feed URL. Paste your RSS URL into a browser. You should see XML with your posts listed. If you see an error, the URL is wrong.

Verify the post is published. Ghost RSS feeds only include published posts. Drafts and scheduled posts won't appear until you publish them.

Wait for the next sync. FeedMansion checks RSS feeds periodically. New posts may take up to an hour to appear.

Check your source is active. In FeedMansion, open Manage > Sources and confirm your Ghost feed shows as active.

Image Issues

If feature images aren't appearing in your drafts:

  • Check the image is public. Ghost must serve the image without authentication. Images behind a login wall are not accessible to FeedMansion.
  • Verify the image URL. In your RSS feed (view in a browser), check that the <enclosure> or <media:content> tags contain valid image URLs.
  • Use a supported format. Ghost typically uses JPEG or PNG. Both work with FeedMansion.

Private Ghost Sites

Ghost gives you an option to make your entire site private. If you run a private Ghost site, the RSS feed requires authentication and FeedMansion cannot access it.

You would need to make your RSS feed publicly accessible to use this integration.
