What is a ghost writer?
A ghost writer turns your content into social media drafts. Connect your blog, newsletter, or podcast. Your ghost writer reads new posts and creates drafts in your voice. You review, approve, and publish.
The ghost writer removes the blank page. You still decide what gets published.
If you want to create AI drafts yourself, Remix uses the same sources and brand voice. A ghost writer automates that same flow.
The basics: sources, ghost writers, drafts, queues
Four concepts that work together.
Sources are where your content lives. Your blog's RSS feed. Your newsletter. Your podcast. When you publish, the source delivers it to FeedMansion.
Ghost writers read your sources and create drafts. Each ghost writer creates posts for specific platforms. One might write short updates for Threads. Another might write longer posts for LinkedIn.
Drafts wait in your Review queue. You read them. You edit them. You approve the ones you like.
Queues are where approved posts line up. Set a schedule. Your queue publishes automatically. You build consistency without managing every post.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- At least one social account connected - Ghost writers need somewhere to create posts for
- A content source ready - Your blog's RSS feed URL, newsletter link, or podcast feed
- Your brand voice set up - Open the Voice page to define how you sound, or use the defaults
Create your first ghost writer
- Open Auto-Drafts in the navigation
- Click Create Ghost Writer
- Give it a name
- Choose the accounts it should create posts for
- Pick your brand voice or set it up on the Voice page
- Save
Connect sources to your ghost writer
Your ghost writer needs content.
- Open Manage > Sources
- Click Add Source
- Paste your RSS feed URL or calendar link
- FeedMansion detects the type automatically
- Link the source to your ghost writer
You can link multiple sources to one ghost writer. It monitors all of them.
The same connected sources also appear in Remix. The difference is who starts the draft: you in Remix, or your ghost writer in Auto-Drafts.
Keep your first setup simple
Start with one ghost writer.
A good first setup:
- One source (your blog or newsletter)
- One ghost writer
- Two or three accounts (Threads, LinkedIn, maybe one more)
Test the workflow. Add more ghost writers later if you need different formats for different platforms.
Tips for better drafts
Give your ghost writer good material.
Clear headlines help. Specific examples help. Your ghost writer works from what you publish.
Set up your brand voice.
The more specific your voice profile, the better your drafts. Open the Voice page to define how you sound.
Review drafts promptly.
Drafts wait for your approval. Edit freely. Approve what works. Change what doesn't.
Troubleshooting
Ghost writer isn't creating drafts
- Check that your source is active and has new content
- Verify the source is linked to your ghost writer in Manage > Sources
- Make sure your ghost writer has target accounts selected
Can't find the Voice page
The Voice page is in your presence menu. If you don't see it, you may not have permission to manage brand voice settings.
No social accounts available to select
You need to connect social accounts before ghost writers can create posts for them. Open Social Accounts and connect at least one platform.
