How to Use the Brand Voice Finder

Capture your authentic voice with a guided wizard. The Brand Voice Finder helps define how you sound, then applies that voice to drafts created through ghost writers and Remix.

What is the Brand Voice Finder?

The Brand Voice Finder is a guided wizard that helps you define your authentic voice. You answer questions about how you communicate, what you'd never say, and edit sample drafts until they sound like you. The result is a voice profile that shapes AI drafts created through ghost writers and Remix.

You don't invent a persona. You capture how you already sound.

When to Use It

Use the Brand Voice Finder when:

  • You're setting up a new presence
  • Your ghost writers' drafts don't sound like you
  • You want to refine your voice before a launch or campaign
  • Your style has evolved and you want drafts to catch up

You can revisit the finder anytime. Each run replaces your previous profile.

How the Wizard Works

The wizard has seven steps. Only step 0 is required. You can skip optional steps and still get a working voice profile. The wizard handles sparse input gracefully with fallback defaults.

Step 0: Who You Are, What You Do, Why You Do It

Required.

Three text fields establish the context for your voice:

  • Who you are (optional): A sentence about yourself or your organization
  • What you do: What you create, offer, or share
  • Why you do it: Your motivation, mission, or purpose

Tip: Paste your website URL. The AI will attempt to fill these fields from your About page or other site content.

Step 1: This or That

Nine questions across three categories: vibe, relationship, and content. For each pair, pick the side that fits you. Or choose "both" or "neither."

Step 2: Emoji Style

Choose how often you use emojis: heavy, light, rarely, or never. If you don't pick "never," you can list your favorite emojis.

Step 3: Never Say

List words, phrases, or styles you'd never use. The AI suggests some based on your earlier answers. You can select suggestions or add your own.

Step 4: Example Content

Paste 2-3 examples of your actual writing. Blog posts, newsletter issues, social media posts. Real examples you wrote yourself work best.

Step 5: Edit Sample Drafts

The AI generates 3 sample drafts. Edit them until they sound like you. Even small tweaks help.

Step 6: Results

The finder generates a voice description, example posts, personality badges, and dos/donts. Click "Apply to Presence" to save. All ghost writers in this presence will use it for future drafts, and Remix will use it when you create AI drafts.

What Helps the Finder Work Well

The finder needs real signal, not filler.

For the text fields: Use specific details about your work and motivation. Aim for 40+ characters combined across "what" and "why." Use concrete language.

For example content: Paste posts you actually wrote, not AI-generated content. Include variety across topics but keep a consistent voice.

For draft editing: Make honest edits that fix tone, not just typos. Skip drafts that already feel right.

Tips by Use Case

Newsletter writers: Paste a recent issue. The finder learns your newsletter voice and creates social post drafts in that style.

Podcasters: Use show notes or transcript excerpts. The finder captures how you talk to listeners.

Nonprofits and clubs: Use "Never Say" to avoid corporate language. Pick the raw side of the content dimension if you want to sound grassroots.

Coaches and consultants: The teacher vs peer choice in Step 1 matters. Pick "teacher" if you share expertise. Pick "peer" if you learn alongside clients.

Course creators: If your courses have a distinct voice, paste a lesson transcript so drafts capture those quirks.
