Overview
Your podcast episodes are insights, stories, and expertise that could reach people beyond podcast listeners. FeedMansion reads your podcast RSS feed and creates social media drafts from each new episode.
You review. You approve. You post. The blank page is already filled.
Supported platforms: X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads, and more.
Apple Podcasts is a Directory, Not a Host
Before you start, understand this distinction:
- Apple Podcasts is a directory. It lists your show and displays episodes to listeners.
- Your podcast host (Libsyn, Buzzsprout, Spotify for Creators, Transistor, Captivate, Podbean, Castos, or similar) hosts your audio files and generates your RSS feed.
Apple Podcasts pulls from your RSS feed. FeedMansion connects to the same RSS feed. You are not connecting Apple Podcasts to FeedMansion. You are connecting your RSS feed URL.
Finding Your RSS Feed URL
From Your Podcast Host
Go to your hosting platform's dashboard and look for your RSS feed URL:
- Buzzsprout: Dashboard > Directories > RSS Feed
- Transistor: Show settings > RSS Feed (sidebar)
- Captivate: Distribute > RSS Feed URL (shown at the top)
- Libsyn: Settings > Edit Show Destination
- Podbean: Settings > Feed > Advanced Feed Settings
- Castos: Podcast settings > Feed Details
- Spotify for Creators: Show Details > RSS Feed URL
- Other hosts: Look for "RSS Feed," "Feed URL," or "Distribution" in settings
From Apple Podcasts Connect
You can also find your RSS feed URL in Apple Podcasts Connect:
- Log in and select your show
- Open the show details
- Look for the RSS Feed URL field and copy it
Verify Your Feed is Public
Paste your RSS feed URL into a browser. You should see XML with your episode data. If you see a login page or an error, the feed is private and FeedMansion cannot access it.
Connecting Your RSS Feed to FeedMansion
In FeedMansion, open Library in the top navigation, click Add Source, and paste your podcast RSS URL.
FeedMansion will fetch your latest episodes and create drafts from them.
What FeedMansion Reads from Your Feed
FeedMansion reads these fields from each episode:
- Episode title
- Episode description and show notes
- Episode artwork
- Publication date and duration
- Show name, artwork, and author
Transcript Limitations
Your podcast RSS feed does not include transcripts.
- Apple Podcasts generates transcripts internally for accessibility. They stay inside Apple's app and are not exposed in the public RSS feed.
- The Podcast namespace includes a
<podcast:transcript>tag, but very few podcasts use it in practice. - FeedMansion creates drafts from your episode title, description, and show notes, not from audio transcripts.
If your show notes are brief, the drafts will reflect that. Well-structured show notes with key topics, quotes, and guest details give FeedMansion more material to work with.
Troubleshooting
Feed not updating. Check your RSS feed URL in a browser. If your latest episode is missing there, the issue is with your podcast host. New episodes can take up to 24 hours to propagate.
Episodes not appearing in FeedMansion. Confirm the feed URL is correct and publicly accessible without a password. After publishing to your host, try refreshing the feed in FeedMansion: Library > select feed > Refresh.
Missing episode artwork. Open your RSS feed in a browser and check the <itunes:image> URL. If the image doesn't load directly, fix the URL in your podcast host settings.
Posts feel generic. Short or sparse show notes limit what FeedMansion can generate. Add bullet points, direct quotes with timestamps, and a one-paragraph guest bio to give the drafts more to work from.
Apple Podcasts not showing your latest episodes. This is unrelated to FeedMansion. Check your Apple Podcasts Connect dashboard for feed errors or warnings.
Automation
When you connect your RSS feed, FeedMansion checks it regularly for new episodes. To set up automatic drafts when new episodes publish:
- In Library, select your podcast source
- Click Setup Auto-Drafts
- Choose target accounts and a posting schedule
- Save
Drafts are created automatically. You review and approve when ready.
