Ideas were removed, and Sources became simpler

The product was simplified around drafts, Sources, and approval flows.

By FeedMansion Team

This period simplified several parts of the product that people touched often.

What changed

  • The Ideas feature was removed so FeedMansion could focus more clearly on draft workflows instead of maintaining a separate ideas system.
  • This rollback happened in two steps. Idea portals and scheduled auto-summon were removed first, and the Ideas feature itself followed in this period.
  • Editable collaborator roles were simplified to admin and member. Owners remained a separate non-assignable role.
  • The Sources area was simplified, and the earlier folder-heavy workflow plus the briefly available GitHub source setup were removed from the main UI so the product could focus on feed, calendar, and email flows.
  • Video approval started showing platform-specific validation errors and, when possible, a one-click transcode retry.
  • In the create-and-approve flow, validation failures kept the saved draft and sent users straight to that draft's detail page.

Availability notes

  • The Sources simplification was most noticeable to teams that had used folders, GitHub sources, or the older Sources workflow.
  • The transcode retry option only appeared for the specific video validation failures that could actually be retried that way.
