GitHub repo sources got better, and setup got simpler

GitHub repo sources got better Create-page support, alt text stopped using credits, and setup became easier.

By FeedMansion Team

This period made several setup and collaboration flows simpler.

What changed

  • GitHub repo sources became easier to use on the Create page, with better search, draft generation from GitHub items, and clearer error states.
  • Add Source was redesigned into one shared modal for feed URLs, calendar URLs, email inboxes, and GitHub repositories.
  • It became possible to invite someone by email even if they did not already have an account, with a smoother login or signup flow from the invite.
  • Onboarding was reduced from four steps to three, which made the first-run path easier to complete.
  • Alt text generation stopped using credits and switched to a per-Presence lifetime limit.

Availability notes

  • GitHub-specific changes only mattered to people using repositories as a source.
